Why Linking Matters
Linking ensures that a client’s browsing history, favorites, and reports flow directly into your dashboard. Until a client is fully linked, you won’t have access to their data.
How Clients Get Linked
There are two main ways:
- Direct Invite
- You send a personalized invite through the dashboard.
- Once the client installs the extension and registers, they are automatically linked to you.
- Invite Link
- You can generate a reusable invite link (e.g., for your email footer, text messages, or marketing).
- Anyone who installs from this link will be linked directly to you after registration.
The Agent Round Robin
- If a new user installs HomeHunter without an invite, they are placed in the round robin system.
- HomeHunter suggests agents in their local region (based on the agent’s selected location in settings).
- This creates an additional stream of organic leads that agents can capture even without sending invites.
(More details about round robin settings are covered in a separate guide.)
Troubleshooting Linking
Sometimes clients may install but not link correctly. Common causes:
- They installed from the Chrome Store directly instead of using your invite.
- They downloaded the extension but did not finish registration.
- They accepted another agent’s invite more recently (last invite wins).
Fix: Resend your invite or share your invite link again — once they re-register through it, they’ll be linked back to you.
Agent Tip
👉 Always remind clients that registration is the final step — it’s what unlocks their data for you. Pair that with using your invite link in your signature to capture more passive installs.
Takeaways:
- Clients can link via direct invites or a reusable invite link.
- Users who download without an invite get matched through the agent round robin.
- Registration is the key step that confirms the link.
- Resending your invite or invite link can resolve most linking issues.
